Gas Buy Down Big Success


Saturday July 12th we held our first ever gas buy down for the community of Westmoreland at Mandrell's BP. We paid 20 cents off every gallon of gas purchased during a 2 and a half hour period. The response was tremendous! We pumped 3000 gallons of gas during that period. The owners told us that they usually only pump 2000 gallons on an average day! More than 40 people of Strong Tower turned out to wash windshields, puimp gas, direct traffic, hold signs and most importantly witness and pass out literature to those who didn't know the Lord Jesus Christ. What a great day! We met so many new people and visited with old friends all while putting the love of Christ into action. This was not a fundraiser. This was just a way to reach out to our community and help everyone out. Pastor David hopes we can do it again next year but hopefully the price of gas will be much lower. Let's pray for that for sure!
